Rochester Police arrested a man for drunk driving and leaving the scene of the accident Thursday morning. They say at around 1:45 a.m. the man hit a car by the intersection of Upper Falls Boulevard and St Paul Street. This caused one of the cars to hit a utility pole. The man tried to drive away, but was followed by a woman in another car until he was arrested by police. The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
Multiple fire departments were called Wednesday evening at around 11:30 p.m for a home that caught fire overnight. A family in Riga was forced out of their home on Jenkins Road after it caught fire that night. The fire is believed to have started in the laundry room and spread throughout the rest of the house according to investigators. The sound of the smoke detectors woke the family up inside allowing them to get out safely.
Next Thursday The Walk Your Way: Fashion Club will be hosting their 90s Day Party: Space Jam edition at 2:30 pm in the Union Ballroom. Students can come dressed in their best 90s outfits for a chance to win prizes and enter tickets into a raffle. Tickets are on sale at the box office for 1 dollar. Following that event, they will then be hosting their Pajama Jam after party at 7pm, tickets for that are free.
