New Missing Person App, Power outage in Gates, and MLK Jr. Memorial Lecture

After the recent Trayvon Rowe tragedy, local company Simple Tech Solutions is developing an app to allow people to sign up and receive a picture message with a description if a child or adult was to go missing. The project is called the Roc Alerts Program and Andrew Hollister developer and owner of Simple Tech Solutions has already received positive feedback from the project.

More than 150 RG&E customers in Gates lost power after a car hit a utility pole Tuesday night. The driver crashed into the pole around 1 in the morning by Spencerport Road and Long Pond Road. The car flipped over onto its roof. After the driver got out of his car, he was taken away by police. There is no word on any charges yet.

Next Monday evening is the the annual Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Lecture. This year’s speaker is award winning journalist Dr. Marc Lamont Hill. The event serves to bring a scholarly examination of the African American experience to the Brockport campus and communities surrounding.
