SUNY, College at Brockport is set to receive state funding to develop a training program for building operations and maintenance staff on how to be more energy efficient. The over $220,000 grant is coming from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. College at Brockport President Heidi Macpherson. “We anticipate a reduction in our annual energy spend by at least five percent as a result of this project, saving approximately $260,000 per year.”
Brockport and the Greater Rochester area have experienced an extreme weather roller coaster this past week, with a record breaking high of 71 on Tuesday. That was up from 29 degrees the day before, and a shocking 82 degrees warmer than the same day back in 2015. Unfortunately the weather has dropped back down again to the 30s today, although it could spike again into the 40s and 50s by the weekend.
