Brockport’s Take Back the Night march is happening Tuesday evening. This international event raises awareness to end sexual violence against women. The group will march through campus and the village beginning at 7 p.m.
A New York State assemblywoman wants to protect models from sexual harassment. Nily Rozic wants to amend the state’s anti-discrimination law, which would make designers, photographers, retailers, and others responsible for any abuse that happens on their watch. Currently, many models do not have good legal protection because they are considered independent contractors.
The funeral for the Buffalo Police diver who drowned on a training mission in the Niagara River two weeks ago will take place Wednesday morning. Officer Craig Lehner will be honored at Key Bank Center and then a procession will walk from the arena to Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Terry and Kim Pegula, owner of the Buffalo Sabres and Bills, are covering all costs of the service. Buffalo Police say they are expecting around 5,000 uniformed personnel to attend.
