An eighth grade student was hit by a car in Irondequoit on Tuesday. The student was walking to school and was struck by a car at the intersection of Titus Avenue and Gardham Road. The student was walking outside of a school zone, so no crossing guards were on duty. Irondequoit central school district superintendent Jeff Crane says, drivers have been more cautious since the death of freshman Michael Lynch who was hit by a car early in the year. Crane also said the district is considering putting crossing guards at that intersection.

Monday marked the one hundred and forty fifth anniversary of monumental moment in history. Susan B. Anthony and 13 others voted in the first presidential election. This movement helped paved the way for the ratification of the19th amendment , giving women the right to vote. Many were able to embrace the right Anthony fought for on Tuesday in Rochester’s local elections. Mount Hope cemetery was open from 7:30 am to 5:00pm where “I voted because of women like her” stickers were handed out. The stickers are to be placed on Anthony’s grave in honor of 100 years of women’s suffrage in New York State.

Disney on ice is making a stop in Rochester once again. Tickets are available for this years show which takes place January 18th through 21st at the blue cross arena.
